Why do people get angry with and hate players who leave their best form til the end of the year, eg, Hayne?

I would think you wouldnt care if it takes your best players 3 or 4 months to find their very best form, as long as you can still win games and make the 8, whats the big deal, no one can play good all year n every game, never have, never will, form depends on weather conditions, confidence, home ground, team form, personal form, health, media and many other factors, personally as an eels fan, i could care less if Hayne hasn't played all that well this year, cos he is now, when it counts, do you agree or not, all good either way
