I've had a huge crush on this boy since the 5th grade.?

Well now im an 8th grader.. its been 3 years since i first had a crush on him.. Ive been seeing him alot lately, at recess , dismissal and sometimes lunch.. I always catch him looking at me.. but i keep thinking maybe its someone behind me.. Or sometimes our eyes meet. Then he just smiles and Looks away.. He doesnt know me, but my friends always call him and say " Hey! This is our friend Marie! " Then he says " Ohh shes marie.. " then he smiles and i walked away.. Im really confused.. Does he like me? or Not.. Or do i need to make friends with him?
