Redfield Revolution question!?

ok im gonna be hunting alot and target shooting im going to get a light target/varmint Ruger 10/22 with the matte black barrel. should i get the Redfield Revolution 2-7x33mm - looks great on the rifle and is the variable i need but it wont capture as much light as the Redfield Revolution 3-9x40mm - which doesnt look verry good because the scope is too large for the rifle just like the Mueller APV, although it will capture more light. Again, i will be hunting in dusk and dawn, i will also do a little target/plinking.
